Position summary
The Support Associate helps operate the front counter at Friendship House. This role includes selling books, coffee, apparel, recovery items, and other counter goods while also helping members and guests find meetings, resources, and appropriate support.
The position requires calm communication, reliability, good judgment, and respect for the recovery community. The person in this role helps keep the house orderly, welcoming, and safe.

Open, close, and operate the counter; sell books, coffee, apparel, medallions, and other items; handle routine customer questions; and help keep the counter area clean and organized.
Welcome visitors, answer basic questions, help people locate meetings or resources, and redirect guests to appropriate community support when needs are outside Friendship House services.
Support a calm, respectful environment by monitoring common areas, reinforcing house rules, communicating concerns, and helping reduce disruptions when possible.
Observe, report, and respond to safety concerns, rule violations, harassment concerns, or emergencies to the house manager, board, staff, or emergency services as appropriate.
